Mr. (later Chief) Olufunso Olayiwola Ogun became the principal in 1995 and served till 2012. A number of landmark achievements were recorded during his tenure. It was while he was at Abeokuta Grammar School the state government mooted the idea of Principals General. He happened to be one of the first three appointed by the then state government.
