Brief History of Abeokuta Grammar School
Abeokuta Grammar was founded by the Egbas with the Anglican communion acting as Educational consultant to the Egbas in its formation.
After the formation of CMS in Lagos by the Egbas they then thought they should come home to do similar thing in their home town.Hence,the establishment of Abeokuta Grammar School.

The school is the first secondary school in Ogun state & in the then western region of Nigeria. Among the old schools in Nigeria, Abeokuta Grammar School is indeed the 7th oldest secondary school in Nigeria.
